I was in inspired and encouraged by my cousin who also plays cricket, I Snuck around and followed him to practice whenever he went and managed to learn the basics, My parents have also inspired me to do well, though at first, they were not keen on me focusing on cricket after I first represented my school, they gave me their full support.

How did you get in the Nigerian team?

After my primary school I was able to gain admission into a cricket playing secondary school called comprehensive high school in ayetoro, during this period I was able to represent the country at the west African un13, un15 level, at the west African un15, I was able to set a record by scoring 101 not out against Morocco, and with this I was invited for the Nigeria un19 and with my performance at the un19 and the local league,I was able to make the senior national team in 2013.

You are the first Nigerian ever to get a T20i 50, how do you feel about it?

That was not my first career 50 at the senior level, I scored my first 50 at the world league div 5 (WCL) in United kingdom against Tanzania, scoring the 54 runs not out and setting a record for Nigeria at the ICC T20 world cup qualifier in UAE for the first time makes me very happy, I had a slow start at the tournament but the 50 helped increase my confidence because I believe I have the ability and the skill to do better than that and also motivate me and makes me keep working hard.
